Monday Memories

Saturday was my sweet Mother's birthday. So I thought my memories today would be about my Mom.
I remember when I was a teenager watching my Mom put on make-up. I said to her, "If I had skin a beautiful as yours I wouldn't wear make-up". My Mom is a beautiful woman. Both outside and inside.
On top of that she is human. My Mother loves to read. When my brother was a baby he got burned and had to spend a lot of time in the stroller with is arms tied to the sides so he would not rub his burns. One afternoon she was holding a bottle in my little brothers mouth while she was reading. It was a really good book. Unbeknown st to my Mom my brother turned his head. So when I came in the room there was my Mom reading while holding a bottle in my little brothers ear.

My Mother is a strong woman. When I was growing up my Dad was not an active member of the Church. My Mother took all 6 of us to church every week. I don't think we ever missed, unless we were on vacation.

My Mom has a sweet sister. I think Aunt Betty is her best friend. When I was young my mother and Aunt Betty decided to reupholster or living room couch. They did a great job, with one exception. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The staple gun went off and shot me in the face. Thank goodness no scares.

My mother always remembers birthdays. Each year my children would look forward to the birthday card from Grandma. It always had $5.00 inside. Even as teenagers they were always excited to get that birthday card. What a sweet Lady.

I love you Mom.
