The Color Pallette

Yesterday I had a really crumby day at work. I had called and talked to Ron during the day and told him I was going to try and leave work around 3:30. He said he wouldn't be home before 5:00. So I decided I would go to the fabric store and get fabric for the log cabin quilt. When I got home around 4:00 Ron was here. He knew my day was bad so he arranged things so he could be here for me. I was surprised to see him and told him since he wasn't going to be home before 5:00 I had planned to go to the fabric store. So my sweetie said why can't we go now. So Ron went with me to the fabric store.If you have never shopped for quilt fabric with a guy, it is quite an experience. He was very patient, and helpful. But he did come up with some amusing fabric suggestions.

So here is a sneak peak at the fabric. A log cabin quilt always starts with a red block in the center. It represents the heart of the home. Then there is a light side and a dark side. The light side represents the happy things in life (weddings, a new baby, new home, etc.) The drk side represents the solemn moments (divorce, death, lose of job, etc.) I thought I wanted to go with greens on the dark side , but ended up going browns. The colors are true, but it gives you an idea.
