New Year

I have read several blogs lately with people excited for the new year. I always have trouble getting excited about the new year. Maybe it is going back to work after 2 weeks off. Maybe it is knowing that the 100th day of school is just around the corner and the state report that I will need to file. This year it might be the downward spiral that started September 30th. Anyway I decided I better pull myself out of the slump I'm in. So I bought a new vacuum cleaner. Cleaned my room. And then headed to the fabric store. I'm making a new quilt. It was going to be blue until I found the most gorgeous fabric.

This is the base fabric. The picture doesn't really do it justice, but you get the idea. I still need to get to two different Cream colored fabrics and 24 fat quarters. But this is what the other fabric will be based on.

Before Christmas Ashley and I took Madie to the Bus Yard. She loves school buses. This is one of my favorite pictures. It makes her look so small. She had so much fun. We went in the bus. She tried out several seats, including the drivers seat. Boy was she mad when it was time to leave. I think I'm going to blow this up and hang in my office.
