Just as I was getting ready to leave work today we are got e-mails from District Office. The CDC had confirmed to cases of Swine flu as Chandler schools. One at Tarwater and one at Hartford. So the Maricopa County Health department is making CUSD close those schools for for 5 days. So we spent the afternoon calling the parents of sped kids to make sure they got the notice and understood we would not be picking up their kids until May 8th.
Now the crazy part. By the time the test result come back from the CDC, both students are well and back at school. So it is too late to protect anyone from those kids. They were all exposed 5 to 7 days ago. It sure makes since to close the schools now.
So in protest of the stupidity, we had Tom's BBQ for dinner tonight. While I was there getting the BBQ Swine, I purchased a Tom's t-shirt. I am wearing a pig to work tomorrow.

I have heard the purpose of closing the schools is because the flu has a 5 day incubation period so if anyone else was infected they will show symptoms before the school reopens therefore not infected anyone else.
I would personally like to know how many of the flu victims are illegals.
Do you remember when the swine flu hit in the mid 1970's? President Ford strongly encouraged everyone to get a flu shot. More people died from the shot than the flu.
I like your shirt and wouldn't it be cute if they would make the surgical masks in the shape of a pigs nose.
