Our neighborhood was hit yesterday by heavy rain, hail and fierce winds. I have never seen a storm come in so quick and so strong. It only lasted about 20 minutes. After the storm everyone was out surveying the damage. We got off luck. Some tree branches down and some minor flooding. The rest of the neighborhood was not so lucky. The townhouses across the street probably lost 50% or more trees. Many up rooted, others just snapped in pieces. We saw 3 trees that had fallen into townhouses and one that fell across the street and took out a water line. As we were walking around the neighborhood Ashley commented on how nice everyone was. They all asked how the other fared in the storm, and offer help and well wishes. It definitely brought out the best in people. Our power was out for about 2 1/2 hours. We called to check on Kristi. She said they got a few claps of thunder, and that was about it. So we invited ourselves to dinner. As we drove over to her house we could see damage all along McQueen and some on Ray. As we past Cooper road there was nothing. The storm had a definite dividing line. It was quite amazing.
Rain running off the front porch
No that's not snow, it's hail.
Fallen branches from our tree.
Broken tree at the townhouses.
Up rooted tree at the townhouses.
This tree was just snapped off just below the soil.
This poor lady had trees go through her windows. You can't see it from the picture, but there is a hole in the siding above the windows.
