Ron had a race in Salt Lake last week-end. I have never been to Salt Lake so I tagged along. We also invited Lori and Justin. It gave us a chance to get to know Justin better.
We left Thursday afternoon and drove to Page. We spent the night there. Friday morning we drove to Salt Lake. We went to a pastry shop I saw on the food network. It's called La Madelines. It was a small shop in the down town area. The pastries were good, but I was surprised how small the shop was. Then we went to Hatch Family Chocolate. They have a show on TLC called "Little Chocolatiers". The shop is owned by little people. The Hatch's weren't there. The shop was very small. The chocolate was over priced, and not any better than See's.
After that we went to Temple Square. We took a tour of the Conference Center. It is really big. Stopped by the Tabernacle. It is really small. Then we went to the North visitors center and guess who we ran into?
That's Alison with Lori and Justin. We were all very happy to see each other. It was a short visit, but very happy.
I took a few pictures of the Temple. This is one of my favorites.
Saturday we all went to the race track around 11:30. It was so windy. They said at time the winds were 50 MPH. So instead of running 1/4 mile, they ran an 1/8. I watched from the stands. It is the 1st time I have every watched from the stands. Ron put on a good show. People would talk about him as I was leaving the stands. They weren't talking to me. They had no idea who I was. But he is a crowd pleaser. I never got any pictures at the track. Maybe next time.
We drove home on Sunday. We went through Fredonia. Stopped at Jacobs Lake and had lunch. The burgers there are really good. Got home around 7:30 Sunday night. It was a really good week-end.

Wow, I recently found out that Ruth has never been to SL but I didn't know you hadn't either.
I haven't been since they built the conference center and I still thought the tabernacle was small.
Have you been to Yellowstone??
Where is your next trip??
I was beginning to think you gave up blogging. Good to hear from you.
