I have always wanted, but had nowhere to put, a design wall for quilting. A design wall is a place to lay out the quilt before you sew the blocks together. You just stick the blocks on the design wall and they stay in place. My friend Leslie had one in her sewing room. It was a big sewing room. The other day when I was blog stalking I came across a design wall idea. This lady and her friend were going to a quilt retreat. Before they went the friend pinned a flannel sheet to her wall. Laid out the quilt, and then folded it up and put it in her suitcase. When they got to the retreat, she unfolded her quilt and went to work. Well it just so happens I have flannel sheets for my California king bed. So guess what I pinned to the wall today. Here is my "Butterfly Blooms" laid out on my design wall. I think I will let it sit for a day or so to make sure the block are where I want them. What do you think? To much of one color in any one place.?
