I had the best Mother's Day yesterday. It started on Saturday when Ron took me shopping to pick out my Mother's present. He took me to Moon Valley Nursery to pick out an apricot tree. He knows how much I love apricots and have sweet memories of the huge tree in my mother's back yard. It is already planted in the backyard. But the poor tree looks a little lonely. So we are going to get Ron a plum tree this week for Father's day.
Sunday Lori and Justin came to join us for sacrament meeting. It was so nice to have them there. Our bishopric made sure every adult woman had a corsage. Then in Relief Society the bishopric served croissants to all the women (you didn't have to be a mother to be honored in our ward).
When we got home from church Lori and Justin were cleaning my house (what a great present).
I also got a CD from Lori and Justin. A CD and a hand bouquet from Dustin and Sarah & the kids. A Silly grand kids picture book from Ashley, Zach & Madie. Plus pink lady apples. From Kristi I got an addition to my Grandma's helper apron. She made me an apron several years ago with 3 pockets that have Jenny, Benjamin and Curtis' hand prints. She came over while I was a work and took the apron home to add 3 more pockets with Katie, Abigail and Madie's hand prints.
Every one came over for dinner. Kristi, Dustin, Ashley, Lori and their families. We also had Eddie & Joanne, Roy, Kerry, and Kerry's mother. Ross, Kimberly and the kids. Susie. and Chris and Wendi and the boys. It was a house full. Ron and Kristi took charge of the meal. Ron grill his famous meat fest. (steak, pork chops, boneless beef ribs, bratwurst, chicken and hot dogs) Everyone brought something. We had corn on the cob, baked potatoes, carrots, rolls, salad and fresh fruit.
In addition to mother's day we celebrated May birthdays (Ross, Luke and Madie). Boy did we have dessert. 3 different cakes, cupcakes, ice cream. It was a royal feast.
Best part, the guys cooked and cleaned up. What can I say I am spoiled.
