PMS
Ron and I went this morning to MVD to take the skills test for our motorcycle endorsement. I was very nervous and I don't know why. As we were sitting at the skills track waiting I was telling Ron that I should not be nervous. I can parallel park a school bus. Run a school bus through a backwards serpentine. So why am I nervous. The guy giving us the test was very nice. He explained everything clearly. If you get 11 points you fail. Every time you put your foot down that is 5 points. If you cross the lines on a skill it is 5 points. Hit a cone 1 point and so forth. There are 2 timed portions to the test. One is a fast braking skill and the other is a fast swerve to avoid an obstacle. Well not too fast since you are going between 12 and 16 MHP. Ron took his test first. I think it was helpful to see exactly how the test went. Ron and I both passed with flying colors. I didn't get any points. Ron got 1 point because he went to fast in the timed portion. What can you expect from a race car driver. So now I officially have P.M.S. (passenger, motorcycle, school bus) endorsements on my driver license.
